With the aim to promote economic independence and skill development in women, the CSR team at NTPC Farakka initiated the Kantha Embroidery Workshop for local women of Farakka on 3rd October 2022.

Smt. D. Ratna Kumari, President of Sujata Ladies Club, Patna inaugurated the workshop by cutting the ribbon, with Smt. Maya Singh, President of Udita Ladies Club.

The 45 days workshop saw eager participation of 50 women from villages around the plant. The workshop not only empowers women but is also honoring a centuries-old embroidery method of Kantha stitching.

Smt. Ratna Kumari discussed the training details with the CSR team and interacted with all the women who are going to take the 45 days training. She encouraged them to be active in learning embroidery and use it to help them economically.
To help people suffering from disability, a tricycle distribution event was also organized by the CSR team on 3rd Oct 2022. Smt. D. Ratna Kumari and Smt. Maya Singh donated the tricycles to eight beneficiaries.
